Fiverr is a global online marketplace offering tasks and services, usually in digital form, that are completed for a fee of $5. Founded in 2010, the company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, with offices in San Francisco, New York City and London.
Fiverr’s mission is to “change how the world works together.” The site allows users to offer their services (known as “gigs”) for a set price of $5.
These services can be anything from design work to writing articles to video editing. Once a gig is purchased, the buyer and seller have 24 hours to complete the task. If either party is not satisfied with the work, they can request a refund from Fiverr.
Fiverr has been growing in popularity since its launch in 2010. In 2012, the site was ranked as the #1 fastest-growing company in Israel by Deloitte.
In 2013, the site was ranked #3 on Forbes’ list of “Top 100 Websites for Starting a Business”. In 2014, Fiverr raised $30 million in Series C funding, valuating the company at over $300 million.
So who is the creator of Fiverr? That would be Micha Kaufman.
Kaufman is an entrepreneur and investor who co-founded Fiverr in 2010. He has also served as the company’s CEO since its inception.
