Can You Embed a Figma Prototype in Google Slides?

Figma is a great tool for designers and teams who want to create interactive prototypes. But what if you need to share your prototype with a wider audience? Can you embed a Figma prototype in Google Slides?

The short answer is yes, you can embed a Figma prototype in Google Slides. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when doing so. First, make sure that your prototype is public.

If it’s not, only people with a Figma account will be able to view it. Second, keep in mind that prototypes can be temperamental beasts. If your prototype has any glitches or is slow to load, those same issues will likely show up when you embed it.

Assuming your prototype is good to go, there are two ways to embed it in Google Slides:

If your prototype is hosted on Figma’s website:
    1. Go to the Figma page for your prototype.
    2. Click the “Share” button in the top-right corner.
    3. Copy the link that appears.
    4. Go to your Google Slides document.
    5. Click where you want the prototype to appear.
    6. Click the “Insert” tab at the top of the screen.
    7. Click “Link” in the “Insert” menu.
    8. Paste the link into the “Web Address” field.
    9. Click “OK.”

If your prototype is not hosted on Figma’s website:
1. Click the “Share” button in the top-right corner.
IMPORTANT! Be sure to copy the link from the “Share Prototype” window, not the main Figma link.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to embed a Figma prototype in Google Slides, be aware that there are some potential risks. There is the potential for the prototype to break or malfunction when embedded, which could disrupt your presentation. Additionally, if you make changes to the prototype after embedding it, those changes may not be reflected in the presentation.
