Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:32 pm

A multi-step checkout is a great way to improve the user experience on your WooCommerce store, and can lead to higher conversion rates. Here’s how to set one up:

1. Install and activate the WooCommerce Checkout Manager plugin. This plugin will give you full control over the fields that appear on your checkout page, and will allow you to break the checkout process into multiple steps.

2. Create a new checkout page template using the Checkout Manager plugin.

To do this, go to WooCommerce > Checkout Manager > Page Templates and click the “Add New Template” button. Give your template a name, and then select the “Multi-Step Checkout” type from the dropdown menu.

3. Configure your checkout fields.

Go to WooCommerce > Checkout Manager > Fields and drag and drop the fields that you want to appear on each step of the checkout process into the appropriate section. You can also rearrange the order in which the fields appear by dragging and dropping them into place.

4. Assign your new template to a page.

Go to WooCommerce > Checkout Manager > Page Templates and click the “Assign Template” button next to your template. Select the page on which you want your multi-step checkout to appear, and then click the “Save Changes” button.

Your multi-step checkout is now ready for use!

Conclusion:

By following the steps above, you can easily create a multi-step checkout process for your WooCommerce store that will improve the user experience and lead to higher conversion rates.

PRO TIP: If you are not comfortable with code, then we recommend that you do not attempt to create a multi-step checkout in WooCommerce. Doing so could break your site.
