Can You Refuse a Gig on Fiverr?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:03 am

As a freelancer, you’re used to getting gigs through online platforms. Fiverr is one of the most popular platforms for this, and for good reason – it’s simple to use and there are always buyers looking for services.

However, you’re not obligated to accept every gig that comes your way. If you don’t want to do a gig for whatever reason, you can simply decline it.

PRO TIP: If you are considering refusing a gig on Fiverr, please be aware that this could have negative consequences for your account. Your account could be suspended or even permanently banned if you refuse too many gigs.

There are a few reasons why you might want to decline a gig on Fiverr. Maybe the buyer has unrealistic expectations, or the gig itself is outside of your area of expertise. Maybe you’re just not feeling it and don’t want to do the work.

Whatever the reason, declining a gig is perfectly acceptable. In fact, it’s probably better to decline a gig than to do a poor job on it just because you felt like you had to accept it.

If you do decide to decline a gig, be polite about it. Thank the buyer for their interest and let them know that you’re not the right person for the job. They’ll appreciate your honesty and be more likely to come back to you in the future with another gig that’s a better fit.
