What Are Meta Tags Wix?
Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page’s content; they provide search engines with information about that page.
While meta tags are a useful way to provide information about your website to search engines, they can also be misused. For example, some website owners Stuff their pages with too many keywords in an attempt to artificially inflate their ranking in search results. This practice, called “keyword stuffing,” is considered spam by most search engines and can result in your website being penalized or even banned from their listings.
So, while meta tags can be helpful, be sure to use them sparingly and avoid keyword stuffing.
