What Does Preview Mode Means in Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 4:29 am

When you create a new site in Wix, you have the option to start in Preview Mode or Editor Mode. So, what’s the difference?

Preview Mode: This is the default mode when you first start creating your site. In Preview Mode, you can add and rearrange content, but you won’t be able to see how it looks until you switch to Editor Mode. This is a great way to get a feel for how your site will flow without having to worry about the details.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

Editor Mode: This is where you can see how your site will look as you’re working on it. You can add and rearrange content, and preview changes in real-time. This is the best way to fine-tune your site before publishing it.

So, what does Preview Mode mean in Wix?

Simply put, Preview Mode is a way for you to get a feel for how your site will flow without having to worry about the details. You can add and rearrange content, but you won’t be able to see how it looks until you switch to Editor Mode.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Wix, preview mode may give you the impression that your site is complete and ready to go live. However, preview mode is only a way to see what your site will look like once it is published. Any changes you make in preview mode will not be saved unless you publish your site.
