How Do I Copy a Section in Figma?

Last updated on December 1, 2022 @ 12:26 pm

There are two ways to copy a section in Figma. The first way is to use the keyboard shortcut, which is Cmd + C on a Mac or Ctrl + C on a PC.

The second way is to use the Edit menu. To do this, select the section you want to copy, then go to Edit > Copy (or use the keyboard shortcut).

Once you’ve copied the section, you can paste it elsewhere in the design using the Edit menu or the keyboard shortcut (Cmd + V on a Mac or Ctrl + V on a PC).

You can also use the Duplicate command to create a copy of a section. To do this, select the section you want to duplicate, then go to Edit > Duplicate (or use the keyboard shortcut, which is Cmd + D on a Mac or Ctrl + D on a PC).

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you may accidentally copy a section in Figma instead of the entire page. To avoid this, be sure to select the entire page before copying any sections.

Copying and duplicating sections in Figma is a quick and easy way to create new versions of existing content. By using the keyboard shortcuts or the Edit menu, you can quickly create copies of sections without having to re-create them from scratch.
