Why Is My Domain Not Connecting to Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 4:43 am

If you recently registered a domain with Wix, it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to connect to your Wix account. If it’s been more than 48 hours, there are a few possible reasons why your domain isn’t connecting:

1. You entered your domain in the wrong format: When you register a domain with Wix, you need to enter it in the following format: www.yourdomain.com. Make sure that you don’t include any extra characters before or after your domain name.

2. Your DNS settings are not set up correctly: In order for your domain to connect to Wix, you need to set up custom DNS settings. To do this, you’ll need to log in to your registrar’s account and update your DNS settings.

3. Your domain is already connected to another site: If your domain is already connected to another site, you won’t be able to connect it to your Wix account. You’ll need to upgrade to a Wix premium plan in order to connect a second site.

Conclusion:

If you’ve registered a domain with Wix but it isn’t connecting, there are a few possible reasons why. First, make sure that you entered the domain in the correct format without any extra characters before or after the name. Next, check that your DNS settings are set up correctly by logging in to your registrar’s account and updating them as needed. Finally, if your domain is already connected to another site, you’ll need to upgrade your plan in order to connect it with Wix as well.

PRO TIP: If you are having trouble connecting your domain to Wix, there are a few things you can check:

1. Make sure your domain is registered with a registrar that supports connecting domains to Wix.

2. Check the DNS settings for your domain. If you are using custom DNS, make sure the A record for your domain is pointing to Wix’s IP address.

3. If you recently transferred your domain to a new registrar, it can take up to 72 hours for the DNS changes to propagate. Wait a few hours and try again.

4. If you are still having trouble, contact Wix support for help.
