Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool. It is primarily web-based, with offline apps available for macOS, Windows and Linux.
Figma has been described as “the Google Docs of design”.
Figma is used by designers at companies such as Google, Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Slack, Airbnb, Playstation and Microsoft. As of October 2019, Figma had 1 million monthly active users.
How Do I Export Work in Figma?
There are a few ways to export work from Figma:
- You can export individual assets or slices from the canvas.
- You can export your entire project as a .zip file.
- You can generate HTML code from your designs.
- You can export your designs as images (JPG or PNG).
To export individual assets or slices from the canvas:
- Select the asset or slice you want to export on the canvas.
- Click on the “Export” button in the top bar.
- A menu will appear with all the available export options for that asset or slice.
- Choose the format you want to export the asset or slice in and click “Export”.
To export your entire project as a .zip file:
1.Click on the “File” menu in the top bar and select “Export..” from the dropdown menu.
PRO TIP: When exporting work in Figma, be sure to check the format and size of your file before exporting. Exporting a file in the wrong format or size can result in lost work or decreased image quality.
