How Do I Make a GIF of Prototype in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 10:39 am

Prototypes are a great way to test out ideas and designs before committing to code. They can also be used to create high-fidelity mockups of an app or website.

And, one of the best ways to create a prototype is using Figma. Figma is a vector-based design tool that is becoming increasingly popular for its ease of use and collaborative features.

One of the great things about Figma is that it makes it easy to create GIFs of your prototypes. This can be extremely helpful when sharing your prototypes with others or when presenting them. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a GIF of your prototype in Figma.

To begin, open up your prototype in Figma. Then, go to the “File” menu and select “Export.” In the “Export” menu, select “GIF.”

Next, you’ll be given some options for exporting your GIF. The first option is “Frame Rate.”

PRO TIP: This article contains instructions on how to make a GIF of the Prototype feature in Figma. However, it is important to note that this feature is still in beta and is subject to change. As such, it is recommended that you back up your Figma project before using this feature.

This option lets you control how many frames per second are exported. The higher the frame rate, the smoother the animation will be. However, a higher frame rate will also result in a larger file size.

The second option is “Loop.” This option lets you control whether or not the GIF will loop endlessly.

If you select “Yes,” the GIF will loop endlessly. If you select “No,” the GIF will play once and then stop.

Finally, you have the option to select which frames of your prototype you want to export. You can export all frames or just a selection of frames.

If you only want to export a selection of frames, simply click on the first frame and then hold down the “Shift” key while clicking on the last frame. All of the frames in between will be selected.

Once you’ve selected all of the options that you want, simply click on the “Export” button and your GIF will be created!
