How Do I Set an 8pt Grid in Figma?

There are a few different ways that you can set an 8pt grid in Figma. The first way is to go to the “File” menu and then select “Document Properties.”

In the “Grid” tab, you can change the “Columns” value to 8. The second way is to click on the “Layout” tab in the left sidebar and then click on the “8pt” button in the “Grid” section. The third way is to use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + Shift + G” (Windows) or “Cmd + Shift + G” (macOS).

Once you have an 8pt grid set up, you can style text in HTML using < p >,< b > and < u > tags where applicable. For example, if you want to make a piece of text bold, you would use the < b > tag.

If you want to underline a piece of text, you would use the < u > tag. And if you want to create a paragraph, you would use the < p > tag.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, setting an 8pt grid in Figma can lead to your design looking wonky and off-kilter. Make sure that you have all of your margins and gutters set correctly before you start fiddling with the grid, otherwise you may end up with a mess on your hands.
