How Do I Share My Figma File to Client?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 11:06 am

Designing in Figma is a collaborative process, and sharing your work with clients is an important part of that collaboration. There are a few different ways to share your Figma file with clients, depending on their needs and level of involvement.

The first way to share your Figma file with clients is to simply give them the link. This is the easiest way to share, and requires no setup on their part.

To do this, open your file in Figma and click the Share button in the top-right corner. From the Share pop-up, copy the link and send it to your client. They can then click the link to open the file in their browser.

If you need to give your client more control, or if they need to be able to edit the file themselves, you can add them as a collaborator on your file. To do this, open your file in Figma and click the Share button in the top-right corner.

PRO TIP: When sharing your Figma file with a client, be sure to give them access to the appropriate layers and frames. If they do not have access to the layers and frames they need, they will not be able to edit the file.

From the Share pop-up, click the Collaborate tab and enter your client’s email address. They will then receive an email with a link to access the file. Once they’re added as a collaborator, they’ll be able to view, comment on, and edit the file just like you can.

Finally, if you want to give your client access to view the file but not make any changes, you can generate a shareable prototype link. This will allow them to view your design as if they were using the final product.

To do this, open your file in Figma and click on the prototype tab at the top of the screen. Then, click on the Share button in the top-right corner and copy the link from the pop-up. Send this link to your client and they’ll be able to view your design in their browser.

Sharing your Figma file with clients is a quick and easy way to get feedback on your designs. By giving them a link, you can let them view or edit your designs without having to send them any files. And by using prototypes, you can let them experience your design as if it’s already been built.
