Figma is a vector graphic design tool that is primarily used to design user interfaces for web and mobile applications. However, Figma is also a great tool for prototyping websites. In this article, we will show you how to use Figma to prototype a website.
When you first open Figma, you will be presented with a blank canvas. You can either create a new frame or import an existing one. For this example, we will create a new frame.
To start, you will need to add some elements to your frame. You can do this by clicking on the “+” icon in the toolbar and selecting the desired element from the menu. For our example, we will add a rectangle, an oval, and a text box.
Once you have added all of the desired elements to your frame, you can begin prototyping your website. To do this, you will need to use the “Layers” panel and the “Prototype” tab.
In the “Layers” panel, you will see all of the elements that you have added to your frame. You can use this panel to rearrange the order of your elements or to delete elements that you no longer need.
In the “Prototype” tab, you can specify how your elements should interact with each other. To do this, you will need to select two elements and then click on the “Link” icon in the toolbar. A popup window will appear where you can specify the type of interaction that you want to create.
For our example, we will create a link between our rectangle and our oval. We want our oval to appear when we hover over our rectangle. To do this, we will select “Hover” from the “Trigger” dropdown menu and “Show” from the “Action” dropdown menu.
Now that we have created our interaction, we can test it out by clicking on the “Play” button in the toolbar. This will open up a new window where we can interact with our prototype.
That’s all there is to it! Using Figma to prototype websites is quick and easy. Give it a try today!
