How Do Gift Cards Work on Squarespace?

Gift cards are a type of stored-value card, which means they hold a specific dollar value that can be used toward purchases at a later time. When you purchase a gift card, the retailer loads the card with funds equal to the value of the card. The funds are then transferred to a merchant account, which is used to process credit and debit card transactions.

To use a gift card on Squarespace, you’ll first need to add the card to your site. To do this, go to Settings > Payments. Under “Payment Methods,” click “+ Add Payment Method” and select “Gift Card”.

Once you’ve added the gift card, you can start accepting payments. To do this, go to the checkout page on your site and enter the amount you’d like to charge.

Under “Payment Method,” select “Gift Card”. Enter the gift card number and PIN, then click “Apply”.

If the total amount of the purchase is less than the value of the gift card, the remaining balance will be available for future purchases. If the total amount of the purchase is more than the value of the gift card, you’ll need to enter another payment method to cover the difference.

PRO TIP: Gift cards are a great way to give someone a Squarespace site, but there are a few things to keep in mind when using them. First, gift cards can only be used towards the purchase of a new Squarespace site, and cannot be used to add funds to an existing account. Second, gift cards must be redeemed within one year of purchase, and any unused balance will be forfeited. Finally, be sure to keep the gift card code safe and secure – if it is lost or stolen, it can’t be replaced.
