What Is a Squarespace Charge?

Last updated on December 23, 2022 @ 7:27 am

When you sign up for Squarespace, you’re charged for your first month of service upfront. After that, you’re charged on a monthly basis. You can also choose to be billed annually, which gives you a 10% discount.

There are four different types of charges you may see on your Squarespace bill:

Subscription Charges
These are the charges for your Squarespace plan and any extras, like G Suite or Site Lock. You’re billed monthly or annually for these charges, depending on how you set up your account.

Domain Charges
If you registered a domain through Squarespace, we’ll renew it automatically and bill you once per year. You can also choose to transfer an existing domain to Squarespace, in which case you’ll be charged an annual fee.

Transaction Charges
If you’re using Squarespace Commerce, you’ll be charged a transaction fee whenever an order is placed on your site. The transaction fee is 2% for Basic Commerce sites and 3% for Advanced Commerce sites. There are no transaction fees for sites on the Personal plan.

Other Charges
You may see other one-time charges on your bill from time to time, like when you purchase a logo or use a premium app.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the four main types of charges associated with having a Squarespace account are subscription charges, domain charges, transaction charges, and other miscellaneous charges. Subscription and domain charges are recurring fees while transaction charges only apply to sites that sell products online. Be sure to check your bill regularly so that you can budget accordingly and avoid any surprises!
