There are a few reasons you might want to change the size of an image on Squarespace. Maybe you want to create a more visually appealing layout, or perhaps the image is too large and is slowing down your site. Whatever the reason, changing the size of an image is easy to do on Squarespace.

In most cases, you’ll want to use the Image Block to resize an image. To do this, simply click on the image you want to resize and select the Image Block from the toolbar that appears.

Once the Image Block is selected, click on the image and drag it to the desired size. You can also use the handles that appear around the image to fine-tune its size. If you need to make further adjustments, you can use the settings in the Image Block panel that appears on the right side of the screen.

Here, you can change things like the width, height, alignment, and more.

In some cases, you might need to use HTML to resize an image. For example, if you’re using a Gallery Block or a Slideshow Block, you’ll need to edit the code to change the size of images. Don’t worry – this is easy to do and doesn’t require any special coding skills.

To change the size of an image using HTML, simply open the code editor and locate the image tag. Then, add a width attribute to the tag and set it to the desired value. For example, if you want your image to be 400 pixels wide, you would add width=”400″ to the tag.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to change the size of an image on Squarespace, be aware that this may cause problems with the layout of your site. If you are not careful, you may end up with an image that is too small or too large for the space allotted on your page. This can make your site look unprofessional or even cause some visitors to leave.

It’s important to note that setting a width will automatically set the height of your image based on its original aspect ratio. So, if your image is 600 pixels wide and 400 pixels tall, setting a width of 400 pixels will make it 300 pixels tall.

If you need more control over how your images are resized, you can also add a height attribute to the tag. This will override any aspect ratio calculations and allow you to set an exact height for your images.
