How Do I Edit a Squarespace Template?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 3:35 am

There are two ways to edit a Squarespace template – through the Template Manager or by directly editing the code. Both methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, so it’s important to choose the one that’s right for you.

If you want to make changes to your site’s design, the Template Manager is the best way to do it. The Template Manager is a visual interface that lets you customize your site without having to edit code.

You can change your site’s colors, fonts, layouts, and more through the Template Manager.

PRO TIP: If you are not experienced with coding, we recommend not attempting to edit your Squarespace template. Making changes to your code can result in broken pages, lost content, and other unforeseen problems.

However, if you want to add custom code to your site, or make other changes that can’t be made through the Template Manager, you’ll need to edit your site’s code directly. Editing code can be tricky, and it’s important to back up your site before you make any changes. But if you’re comfortable with HTML and CSS, it’s a great way to add custom features to your Squarespace site.

No matter which method you choose, editing a Squarespace template is easy and straightforward. With a little time and effort, you can make your Squarespace site look exactly the way you want it.
