Do You Have to Use a Template on Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 4:24 am

As a general rule, you don’t have to use a template on Squarespace. You can start with a blank canvas and create something completely unique. That said, there are some benefits to using a template.

For one, templates can save you a lot of time. If you’re not a web designer or developer, building a website from scratch can be daunting. Templates give you a solid foundation to work from, and they come with built-in functionality and features that you might not be able to recreate on your own.

PRO TIP: Using a template on Squarespace is not recommended as it can lead to complications with the website’s design and functionality. Additionally, using a template may result in a loss of control over the website’s content and style.

Templates also tend to be more responsive and mobile-friendly than custom-built websites. This is because they’re designed to meet the latest web standards and they’re tested across different devices before being released.

If you’re not sure whether you should use a template or start from scratch, our advice is to experiment with both options and see what works best for you and your project.
