How Do I Add a Google Document to My Wix Website?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:26 am

Adding a Google Doc to your Wix website is a great way to share documents with your visitors. You can add a link to your Google Doc in your Wix site’s navigation bar, or you can embed the document on a page of your site.

To add a link to your Google Doc in your Wix site’s navigation bar:

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

1. Go to your Wix site’s dashboard. 2. Click the “Add” button in the top navigation bar. 3. Select “Link” from the list of options.

4. Enter the URL of your Google Doc in the “Link URL” field. 5. Enter the text you want to display for the link in the “Link Text” field. 6. Click “OK.”
7. Your Google Doc will now be accessible from your Wix site’s navigation bar.

To embed your Google Doc on a page of your Wix site:
1. Go to your Google Doc and click the “Share” button in the top-right corner of the page. In the “Get Link” section, click the “Change” link next to “Who has access.” 3. In the “Who has access?” pop-up window, select “Public on the web – Anyone on the Internet can find and view.” Then click “Save.”

PRO TIP: If you are using Wix to create a website, you may want to add a Google Document to your site. However, before you do this, you should be aware of a few things. First, if you are using a free Wix account, you will not be able to add a Google Document to your site. You must have a paid account in order to do this. Secondly, even if you have a paid account, you should only add a Google Document if it is relevant to your site’s content. Adding irrelevant documents will only clutter up your site and make it harder for visitors to find the information they are looking for.

4. Copy the document’s URL from the “Link to share” field at the top of the pop-up window. Go to your Wix site’s dashboard and click on the page where you want to embed your document. Click anywhere inside the page’s content area and paste (Ctrl+V or ⌘+V) the URL you copied in Step 4 into the box that appears at the bottom of your screen. 7. Press Enter/Return on your keyboard and your document will appear embedded on your page.

8.Make sure that when you share your Google Doc, you select “Public on
the web – Anyone on the Internet can find and view.” Otherwise, people
will not be able to see it when you embed it on your Wix site.
