How Do I Add a Under Construction Page on Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:32 am

When you’re building a website, there’s always a chance that you’ll need to take it down for maintenance at some point. Whether you’re making changes to the design, fixing bugs, or adding new content, it’s important to let your visitors know what’s going on. That’s where a “Coming Soon” or “Under Construction” page comes in.

A “Coming Soon” page is basically a placeholder for your website while you’re working on it. It lets visitors know that the site is coming soon and gives them a way to contact you if they’re interested in learning more.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

There are a few different ways to create a “Coming Soon” page on Wix.com. You can use the Wix Editor to create a custom page, or you can use one of the pre-designed templates that Wix offers.

To create a custom “Coming Soon” page:

1. Log in to your Wix account and go to the Wix Editor. 2. Click on the “+ Add New Page” button in the left sidebar. 3. Give your page a name (like “Coming Soon” or “Under Construction”) and click “Create Page.” 4. On the left sidebar, click on the “+ Add Element” button.

5. Choose which element you want to add to your page (like an image, text box, or video). 6. Customize the element and then click “Save & Close.” 7. Repeat steps 5-7 until your page is complete. 8. Click on the “Publish” button in the top right corner of the screen to make your page live.

To use one of Wix’s pre-designed templates:

1. On the left sidebar, click on the “Templates” button.

3. Scroll through the list of templates and find one that you like for your “Coming Soon” page (you can also use the search bar to find specific types of templates). 4. Click on the template to select it and then click on the “Use This Template” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. 5

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML or coding, then adding a under construction page on Wix may be difficult for you. Also, if you do not have a lot of time, it may be best to use a different method to add a under construction page.
