How Do I Add a Specification Tab in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:56 pm

Adding a specification tab in WooCommerce is a great way to provide more information about your products to your customers. By default, WooCommerce only provides a few tabs on the product page, such as the description tab and the reviews tab. However, you can easily add a new tab to the product page by following these steps:

1. First, you need to edit the product in which you want to add the specification tab. You can do this by going to WooCommerce > Products and selecting the Edit product option from the bulk actions dropdown menu.

2. Once you’re editing the product, scroll down to the Product data section and select the Attributes tab.

3. In the Attributes tab, you need to create a new attribute by clicking on the Add button.

For the Name field, you can enter something like “Specifications” or “Product Specs”. Then, set the Type to “Select” and click on the Save changes button.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with code or are not comfortable working with code, do not attempt to add a specification tab in WooCommerce. You may break your site.

4. Next, you need to add some values for your new attribute.

For this example, we’ll add two values: “Yes” and “No”. To do this, simply click on the Add option under each value field and enter the value in the appropriate field. Once you’re done, click on the Save changes button again.

5. Now that you’ve created your attribute and added some values, you need to assign those values to your product.

To do this, scroll down to the Variations section and select each variation that you want to assign a value to. Then, under each variation’s attributes dropdown menu, select the appropriate value for your new attribute.

6. The last step is to add your new attribute tab to the product page itself.

To do this, go to WooCommerce > Settings and select the Products tab from the left-hand sidebar. Then, scroll down to the Product pages section and find the Default product tabs setting. From here, simply check the box next to your new attribute’s name and then click on
