How Do I Embed a File in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 4:49 am

If you’re looking to add a file to your Squarespace site, you can do so by embedding it. To embed a file, you’ll need to use the code block element.

This element allows you to input code directly into your Squarespace site, which is useful for adding files. Here’s how to do it:

PRO TIP: Warning: If you are not familiar with HTML and CSS, we do not recommend trying to embed a file in Squarespace. Doing so could cause your site to break and may be difficult to fix.

1. Go to the page or post where you want to add the embedded file. 2. Click the “+” icon and select “Code Block” from the list of options.

3. A new code block will be added to your page. In the code block, paste the URL of the file you want to embed. 4. Save your changes and preview your page to see the embedded file.

You can use this same method to embed audio or video files from other sites like YouTube or Vimeo. Simply paste the URL of the file into the code block element and it will be embedded on your Squarespace site.
