SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol that provides security for communication between
websites and web browsers. When you install an SSL certificate on your Squarespace website,
you’ll enable the HTTPS protocol and can improve your site’s security. This article will
explain how to install an SSL certificate on your Squarespace website.

Before you begin, you’ll need to purchase an SSL certificate from a Certificate Authority
(CA). Once you’ve purchased your certificate, you can continue with the instructions below.

    1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Settings panel.

    2. In the Settings panel, click Security & SSL.

    3. On the Security & SSL page, click SSL Certificate.

    4. If you’re using a third-party domain:

    1. In the “Your site is currently served over HTTP. “ section, click “Enable SSL for this site. “

    2. In the drop-down menu, select “Custom Certificate. “

    3. Enter your certificate’s primary domain in the text field. If you have a Subject Alternative Name (SAN) certificate, you can enter additional domains here, separated by commas.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that installing an SSL certificate on Squarespace can be a complex process. If you are not comfortable with performing such a task, please seek out the assistance of a qualified professional.

After following the instructions above, your SSL certificate will be installed on your Squarespace website. This will enable the HTTPS protocol and improve your site’s security.
