If you’re running a website on Squarespace, there may be times when you need to let someone upload a file to your site. For example, you may want to let visitors submit photos for a contest, or allow customers to send you documents for quotes or orders.

Fortunately, Squarespace makes it easy to add file upload forms to your website. In this article, we’ll show you how to add a file upload form to a Squarespace page so that visitors can submit files to you.

Adding a file upload form to your Squarespace website is simple with the Form Block. The Form Block allows you to add various types of input fields to your page, including file upload fields. To add a Form Block:

    1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Pages section of your site.

    2. Click the + icon next to the page where you want to add the Form Block.

    3. In the Blocks panel, click Forms and drag it onto your page.

    4. In the Add Fields panel, click File Upload.

    5. Enter a question for the field, then click Done.

    6. Repeat steps 4-5 for each additional field you want to add.

    7. When you’re finished adding fields, click Save & Close.

Your file upload form is now live on your website! Visitors can submit files through the form, which will be sent to the email address associated with your Squarespace account. To view and download submitted files:

1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Analytics section of your site. Click Forms under Data & Statistics.

Click the name of the form you want to view submissions for. Click a submission date next to the form name. A PDF of the submission will open in a new window/tab. To download submitted files: On the same page where you view submissions (step 3 above), click More > File Manager. Here you can view, download, or delete any files that have been submitted through forms on your site.

So there you have it! A quick and easy guide to adding file upload forms to your Squarespace website using the Forms Block.

PRO TIP: If you are allowing someone to upload files to your Squarespace website, be sure to take precautions to ensure that the files are safe and secure. Make sure that you trust the person who is uploading the files, and that they are not malicious. Also, be sure to check the file type and size before allowing it to be uploaded to your website.
