What Is a Dataset in Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:36 am

A dataset is a collection of data that is organized in a specific way. Wix datasets can be used to store information about anything you need to keep track of on your website. For example, you could use a dataset to store a list of products, customers, or blog posts.

Datasets are different from other data types in Wix because they can be used to create dynamic pages. Dynamic pages are pages that change based on the data in your dataset. For example, if you have a dataset of products, you can create a dynamic page that shows all of the products in your dataset.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

To create a dataset, go to the Wix Editor and click on the “Add” button. Then, click on “Dataset” and choose the type of dataset you want to create.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Wix, datasets may be confusing. A dataset is a collection of data that is used to populate a page or component on a Wix site. Datasets can be static (e.g. a list of states) or dynamic (e.g. data from a form submission).

Once you have created your dataset, you can add data to it by clicking on the “Add” button and filling out the form that appears. You can also edit or delete data by clicking on the “Edit” or “Delete” buttons next to each piece of data.

If you want to use your dataset to create a dynamic page, go to the “Page Manager” and click on the “Add Page” button. Then, choose “Dynamic Page” and select the dataset you want to use.

Dynamic pages are a great way to show off your data in an interesting and interactive way. With Wix datasets, you can easily create dynamic pages that will engage your visitors and help them find the information they’re looking for.
