How Do I Resize a Product Image in Shopify?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:26 pm

Do you have a product image that’s too large or small for your shop’s needs? Maybe you need to add text to the image, but the current size doesn’t allow for enough room.

Or, maybe the image is just the wrong dimensions and you want to resize it without losing any quality. Whatever your reasons, there are a few ways you can resize your product images in Shopify.

The first option is to use an online image resizer like PicResize or ResizeImage.net. Simply upload your image, choose the new dimensions, and download the resized image. This is a quick and easy option if you don’t need to resize lots of images or if you want to keep the original file intact.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML or CSS, we recommend that you do not attempt to resize a product image in Shopify. Doing so may result in the image being distorted or not display correctly on your store.

The second option is to use an image editing program like Photoshop or GIMP. With these programs, you can open your image, resize it, and then save it as a new file. This is a good option if you need to resize multiple images or if you want more control over the final product.

The third option is to use Shopify’s built-in image resizer. To do this, simply go to Settings > Files and scroll down to the Image Resizing section.

Choose the new width and height for your images, and then click Save. This option is best if you want all of your images to be the same size or if you’re unsure about which size you need.

No matter which method you choose, resizing your product images in Shopify is easy and only takes a few minutes. So go ahead and try one of these methods today!
