There are a few important things to know before you backup your Squarespace site. First, it’s important to understand that backing up your site is different than backing up your blog. Your blog lives on our servers, and we backup and store all of your content for you. You can export your blog posts at any time from the Blog Manager. For more information, visit our Help Center.
Second, it’s important to know that you can only export certain types of content from Squarespace.
We don’t currently offer a way to export your entire site, including pages, galleries, and blog posts. However, you can export individual pages, galleries, and blog posts as HTML files. For more information, please visit our Help Center.
Finally, we recommend using an external service like Dropbox or Google Drive to store backups of your site. This is especially important if you have a lot of content or if you plan on making significant changes to your site. If you ever need to restore your site, you can simply upload the HTML files to Squarespace and we’ll take care of the rest.
First, it is important to note that backing up your Squarespace site does not backup your content. Content includes things like your pages, blog posts, images, and files. If you want to backup your content, you will need to export it from Squarespace.
Second, when you backup your Squarespace site, you are only backing up the structure of your site. This includes things like your design, navigation, and settings. Your content will not be backed up.
Third, it is important to remember that backing up your Squarespace site does not create a duplicate copy of your site. If you make changes to your site after you backup it, those changes will not be reflected in the backup.
Finally, if you are planning on moving your Squarespace site to another platform, it is important to note that you will need to export your content before you backup your site. Otherwise, you will lose all of your content when you move to the new platform.
