Do You Have to Pay Monthly for Wix?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:29 am

If you’re thinking about using Wix to create a website, you may be wondering if you have to pay monthly for Wix. The short answer is yes, but there are some caveats.

While Wix does offer a free plan, it’s not really intended for people who want to create a professional website. The free plan is more like a trial, and it includes features that will eventually expire unless you upgrade to a paid plan.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

For example, your site will have Wix branding, and you’ll be limited to 500 MB of storage.

There are four paid plans: Connect Domain, Combo, Unlimited, and eCommerce. Connect Domain is the most basic plan; it allows you to use your own domain name (which you’ll have to purchase separately) and removes Wix branding from your site. Combo is the next step up and includes more storage, a removeable Wix banner, and a free domain name for one year.

Unlimited gives you unlimited storage and bandwidth, as well as access to Google Analytics and $300 in ad vouchers. eCommerce is identical to Unlimited but also includes an online store.

PRO TIP: If you are using the free version of Wix, you will not have to pay monthly. However, if you are using a paid version of Wix, you will have to pay monthly.

The pricing for these plans varies depending on how long you sign up for; the longer the commitment, the cheaper the monthly price. For example, the Combo plan is $11/month if you sign up for one year, but only $14/month if you sign up for two years.

So, if you’re planning on using Wix to create a professional website, you’ll need to sign up for one of their paid plans. The good news is that there’s a plan for every budget, and you can always start with the most basic plan and upgrade later if needed.
