On August 1, 2014, Squarespace announced it had completed a $40 million Series D funding round led by Index Ventures, with participation from Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners, and Glynn Capital Management. This brought the total amount of money raised by the company to $78.5 million.

According to an SEC filing, Squarespace sold 3,372,941 shares of common stock at a price of $11.75 per share in the funding round. That means the company raised a little over $40 million from the sale of stock.

Squarespace has now raised a total of $78.5 million from investors. The company will use the latest round of funding to continue its expansion into new markets and to invest in product development.
