If you want to remove the branding and have full access to Squarespace’s features, you’ll need to sign up for a paid account. Paid accounts start at $12 per month.

The personal plan includes a custom domain name, unlimited storage and bandwidth, and access to Squarespace’s email marketing tools. The business plan includes all of the features of the personal plan, plus unlimited contributors, an advanced website stats tool, and $100 in Google AdWords credit. The eCommerce plan includes all of the features of the business plan, plus unlimited products, automatic tax calculations, and abandoned cart recovery.

So is Squarespace completely free? No, but there is a free trial available that allows you to test out the platform before committing to a paid subscription.
