How Do I Use Blocks in WooCommerce?

Last updated on January 22, 2023 @ 1:00 pm

Blocks are a key part of the WordPress Editor (Gutenberg). They provide a way to separate content into distinct sections, allowing for more control over the presentation of your post or page.

The WordPress Editor is designed around the principle of “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG). This means that when you are creating a post or page, you can see how it will look on the front-end of your website. Blocks are the building blocks of this editor, and they allow you to add different types of content in a structured way.

There are many different types of blocks available in WordPress, and new ones are being added all the time. You can add blocks by clicking on the “add block” button in the toolbar, or by typing “/” and then the name of the block you want to add. For example, “/image” will add an image block.

Once you have added a block, you can configure its settings by clicking on the “gear” icon in the toolbar. For example, with an image block you can control the size, alignment, and link settings.

Blocks can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into place. You can also nest blocks inside of other blocks (for example, you could put an image inside a column block).

To remove a block, click on the “trashcan” icon in the toolbar.

The WordPress Editor is still in active development and subject to change. Blocks are a key part of Gutenberg, providing a way to separate content into distinct sections with more control over presentation.

Here’s how you can use blocks in WooCommerce:

1. To add a product grid block, click on “Add Block” and then select “Product Grid“.

2. To add a product category block, click on “Add Block” and then select “Product Category“.

3. To add a product tag cloud block, click on “Add Block” and then select “Product Tag Cloud“.

Conclusion

Adding blocks in WooCommerce is simple and easy.

PRO TIP: If you are not comfortable with coding, we recommend that you consult with a developer before making any changes to your WooCommerce blocks. Making changes to code can break your site if not done correctly.
