How Do I Access Shopify Storefront API?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:57 pm

Shopify Storefront API is used to access Shopify data from outside of Shopify. It lets you access data on products, customers, orders, and more.

You can use the API to build your own Shopify apps or integrations.

To access the API, you need a Shopify partner account. If you don’t have one, you can sign up for a free trial.

Once you have a partner account, you can generate an API key and secret from the Apps section of yourShopify Partner Dashboard.

With your API key and secret, you can create apps that make calls to Shopify’s API. For example, you could use the API to create a custom reporting app. To learn more about what you can do with the API, read the documentation.

If you’re new to using APIs, we recommend that you read our intro to APIs guide before getting started.

PRO TIP: The Shopify Storefront API is a private API that is only available to Shopify Plus merchants. If you are not a Shopify Plus merchant, do not attempt to access this API as you will be denied access.
