If you have products that come in different variants, such as size or color, you’ll want to make sure each variant is displayed as a separate product on your Shopify store. There are a few different ways to do this, which we’ll outline below.
One way to show variants as separate products is to create a separate product page for each variant. This is especially helpful if the variants are significantly different from each other, or if you want to provide more information about a particular variant. To do this, simply create a new product page for each variant and add the relevant information to each page.
Another way to show variants as separate products is to use Shopify’s built-in variant options. This feature allows you to add variant-specific options to your product pages, which will then be displayed as separate products on your store.
Instead, Shopify will show all variants of a product as a single product, with the option for customers to select their desired variant from a drop-down menu.
While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it could potentially lead to confusion for your customers, as they may not realize that there are different variants available unless they click on the product and view the drop-down menu.
To avoid any potential confusion, we recommend making it clear to your customers that variants are available by either listing them out in the product description or by including an image that shows all of the available variants.
To use this feature, simply go to the “Variants” tab of your product page and select the “Add Variant Option” button. From there, you can choose what kind of option you want to add (such as size or color), and then enter the different values for that option (such as small, medium, large).
If you want to show variants as separate products but don’t want to create new pages or use Shopify’s built-in options, you can also use third-party apps from the Shopify App Store. These apps typically allow you to list variants as separate products on your store without having to make any changes to your existing product pages. No matter which method you choose, showing variants as separate products on your Shopify store is a great way to give your customers more information about the products they’re interested in and make it easy for them to find the perfect item.
