Does AWS offer VPS?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 2:53 pm

AWS offers two types of virtual private servers (VPS): Amazon Web Services Private Cloud (AWSPC) and Amazon EC2. AWSPC is a fully managed service that you launch and operate yourself. You pay for the resources you use, and AWS takes care of the security, backUPS, and scaling. Amazon EC2 is a managed service that you pay for and use to launch instances of your own.

You manage the instances and security yourself. AWS also takes care of backUPS and scaling. You pay for the resources you use, and AWS takes care of the operating costs.

The most important difference between AWSPC and Amazon EC2 is that AWSPC is a managed service that you launch and operate yourself. With Amazon EC2, you pay for and use Amazon’s virtual infrastructure to launch instances of your own.

PRO TIP: AWS does not offer VPS. If you are looking for a VPS provider, we recommend looking into other providers such as DigitalOcean, Linode, or Vultr.

Although there are some minor differences, the two services are essentially the same. In both cases, you pay for the resources you use, and AWS takes care of the operating costs.

Overall, AWS offers two very different types of virtual private servers that are both excellent ways to get started with virtualization. With Amazon EC2, you manage the instances and security yourself.

With Amazon Web Services Private Cloud, AWS takes care of everything for you, including backUPS and scaling.
