What Is Storefront Password in Shopify?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 10:39 pm

Shopify’s Storefront Password feature allows you to password protect your online store. This is useful if you want to restrict access to your store to only certain people, or if you want to launch your store privately before making it public.

When you password protect your store, anyone who tries to access your store will be prompted to enter a password. Only people who know the password will be able to access your store.

You can set a password for your entire store, or for specific pages within your store. For example, you could set a password for your product pages, but not for your blog pages.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use Shopify to sell online, it’s important to understand what Storefront Password is and how it works. Storefront Password is a feature that allows customers to create an account and log in to your shop from the Shopify password page. This feature is turned on by default, but can be turned off in the settings. If you turn off Storefront Password, customers will not be able to create an account or log in to your shop.

To set a password for your store, go to the “Settings” tab in your Shopify admin, and then click “Storefront Password.” From here, you can enable password protection and choose a password.

If you want to set a password for specific pages within your store, go to the “Pages” tab in your Shopify admin and click on the page that you want to password protect. Under the “Visibility” section, check the box next to “Password protect this page.” Enter a password and then click “Save.”

Now that you know how to password protect your Shopify store, you can keep sensitive information private or launch your store privately before making it public.
