If you need to process a partial refund for an order in WooCommerce, you can do so from the Edit Order page. Partial refunds can be processed for individual items, shipping, and taxes. If you need to refund an entire order, you can do so from the Orders page.

To process a partial refund:

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Orders. Then, click on the order you need to refund.
  2. On the Order Details page, click Process Refund.

    A pop-up will appear.

  3. In the Refund Amount field, enter the amount you need to refund. If you need to refund shipping, check the Refund Shipping checkbox. If you need to refund taxes, check the Refund Taxes checkbox.
  4. Add a note for your records in the Reason for Refund text area.
  5. Click on the Refund $X via PayPal. Note: If you’re not using PayPal or don’t have it set up, this option will be greyed out.

That’s it! You’ve successfully processed a partial refund in WooCommerce.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, partial refunds in WooCommerce can cause inventory issues. If you refund an order for less than the total amount, and the order used products from multiple warehouses, you will need to manually adjust the inventory levels for each warehouse.
