How Do I Add HTML to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:23 am

Adding HTML to your Squarespace site is a great way to add custom styling and content to your pages. There are a few different ways to do this, depending on where you want the HTML to appear on your page.

If you want to add HTML to a specific area of your page, you can use the Code Block element. This element allows you to add HTML code directly into the page, and you can position it anywhere on the page using the drag and drop editor.

To add a Code Block:

1. Log into your Squarespace account and go to the website you want to edit. 2. Click the Pages icon in the left sidebar, then click the page you want to edit. 3. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner of the page.

4. In the left sidebar, click the + icon next to the area where you want to add your HTML code. A list of elements will appear. 5. Scroll down and click Code, then click Add. 6. Paste your HTML code into the Code Block element and click Apply & Save in the top-right corner of the page.

If you want to add HTML code to your entire site, you can do so by editing your site’s code injection settings. This is useful if you want to add tracking code or other global code snippets to your site.

PRO TIP: Adding HTML to your Squarespace site can be a great way to customize your pages and add extra functionality. However, if you’re not careful, you can accidentally break your site or introduce security vulnerabilities. Before adding HTML to your Squarespace site, be sure to:

-Back up your site
-Test your code on a local copy of your site first
-Be familiar with basic HTML and CSS
-Avoid using inline JavaScript

If you’re not comfortable working with code, we recommend hiring a professional developer to help you make changes to your site.

To edit your code injection settings:

1. Click Settings in the left sidebar, then click Advanced under Website Management.

3. Scroll down to Code Injection and enter your HTML code in the header or footer fields as desired. Be sure to click Save when you’re done!
