If you’re using WordPress to sell online, odds are you’re using WooCommerce as your eCommerce platform. WooCommerce is a great platform for selling products and services online, but in order to get your products to your customers, you need to set up shipping.
Shipping can be a bit confusing, but we’re here to help make it easy.
In this article, we’ll cover how to set up shipping in WooCommerce so that you can start selling products to customers around the world.
First, you’ll need to set up shipping zones. Shipping zones are areas that you ship products to. You can set up as many shipping zones as you need, and each shipping zone can have its own shipping methods and rates. To set up shipping zones, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.
On the Shipping Zones page, you’ll see a list of all the shipping zones that have been set up. To add a new shipping zone, click on the Add Zone button.
You’ll then need to enter a zone name and description. The zone name is for your reference only and will be displayed in the admin area.
The description is optional and is only displayed to customers on the front-end of your site. Once you’ve added a name and description, click on the Save changes button.
Next, you’ll need to add shipping methods to your shipping zone. Shipping methods are the different ways that you can ship products to your customers. WooCommerce comes with several built-in shipping methods, such as free shipping, flat rate shipping, and local pickup.
To add a shipping method, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping. On the Shipping Zones page, find the zone that you want to add a shipping method to and click on the Edit link.
On the Edit Zone page, scroll down to the Shipping Methods section. Here, you can select which shipping methods are available for this particular zone. Once you’ve selected the shipping methods that you want to offer, click on the Save changes button.
1. Make sure that your products are properly configured and that your shipping settings are correct.
2. Test your shipping setup before going live with your store.
3. Keep an eye on your shipping costs and make sure they are reasonable.
4. When using WooCommerce Shipping, be aware of the potential for errors and be prepared to troubleshoot them if they occur.
Finally, you’ll need to configure your shipping rates. Shipping rates are the prices that you charge for each shipping method. To configure your shipping rates, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.
On the Shipping Zones page, find the zone that you want to configure rates for and click on the EditEdit link. If you want all of your rates for a particular method to be displayed in one table, select the checkbox next to “Enable Table Rate Shipping”. Once you’ve enabled table rate shipping, click on the “Save changes” >button.
