There are two ways to put a video on your Squarespace website. The first is to embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo using the Embed Block.
The second is to upload a video file directly to your Squarespace account using the Video Block.
PRO TIP: If you are planning to put a video on your Squarespace website, be aware that there are certain file types and formats that will not work. Additionally, your video may not appear correctly if you do not have the correct codecs installed on your computer.
To embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo, follow these steps:
- Go to the page on YouTube or Vimeo where the video is located.
- Click the Share button.
- Click the Embed button.
- Copy the code that appears.
- In Squarespace, open the page or post where you want to add the video.
- Click an Insert Point or the +.
- If you don’t see an Insert Point, click Edit and then click an Insert Point.
- In the Blocks panel, click Embed.
- Paste the code you copied from YouTube or Vimeo and click Apply.
