The WooCommerce Subscriptions extension allows you to create and manage products with recurring payments. It’s a great way to sell products like magazines, news websites, club memberships, and more.
In order to import a WooCommerce subscription, you need to first have a WooCommerce product that is set up for recurring payments. You can find instructions on how to do this here. Once you have a recurring payment product set up, you can follow these steps to import your WooCommerce subscription:
- Log in to your WordPress site and go to your Dashboard.
- Click on WooCommerce > Subscriptions. This will take you to the Subscriptions page where you can manage your subscriptions.
- Click on the Import tab.
- Click on the Choose File button and select the file that you want to import.
The file must be in CSV format. - Make sure that the file is correctly formatted. You can find an example of a correctly formatted CSV file here. Once you’ve double-checked the file, click on the Upload File and Import button.
- Map fields. On this screen, you’ll need to map the fields from your CSV file to the corresponding fields in WooCommerce Subscriptions. For example, if your CSV file has a column for “First Name,” you’ll need to map that field to the “First Name” field in WooCommerce Subscriptions.
-
Import Options. On this screen, you can choose how you want to handle subscription payments and whether or not you want to send out notification emails when subscriptions are created or canceled.
There are a few things to keep in mind when importing a WooCommerce subscription:
Make sure that your CSV file is correctly formatted. You can find an example of a correctly formatted CSV file here.
Make sure that you map the fields from your CSV file correctly to the corresponding fields in WooCommerce Subscriptions. For example, if your CSV file has a column for “First Name,” make sure that it is mapped correctly to the “First Name” field in WooCommerce Subscriptions.
Finally, make sure that you choose the right import options on the final screen. For example, if you want subscription payments to be handled automatically, make sure that option is selected.
Firstly, please ensure that you have a backup of your site before proceeding, as there is always a possibility that something could go wrong during the import process.
Secondly, please be aware that importing a Subscription can potentially overwrite existing data on your site. Therefore, it is important to check that the data you are planning to import is compatible with your existing data before proceeding.
Finally, please note that importing a Subscription may take some time, depending on the size of the file you are importing. Therefore, it is important to be patient and not to interrupt the import process once it has begun.
