What Size Image Is Best for Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:53 am

When it comes to images, one size does not fit all. The dimensions of an image can make or break a design, so it’s important to choose the right size for your project. But with all the different options out there, how do you know which one to choose?

Here’s a quick guide to help you select the best image size for Squarespace:

For Blog Posts:

Images for blog posts should be at least 1200x500px. This will ensure that your images are high enough quality to appear on retina displays and look great when shared on social media.

For Galleries:

Images for galleries should be at least 800x800px. This size will allow your photos to look sharp on all devices and will make them easy to share on social media. If you’re planning to sell prints of your photos, you’ll need to use an image size that’s at least 1800x1800px.

For Banners:

Images for banners should be at least 2000x2000px. This will ensure that your banner looks sharp on all devices and won’t be pixelated when viewed from a distance.

PRO TIP: When creating images for use on Squarespace, it’s important to keep in mind that images will be displayed in a square format. As such, it’s best to avoid images with a lot of empty space around the subject matter, as this will result in the image being cropped in an undesirable way. Instead, try to use images that are tightly cropped and have the subject matter centered. This will ensure that your images look their best on Squarespace.
