How Do I Add an Editor to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 10:04 am

There are two ways to add an editor to Squarespace: by inviting them to join your site, or by adding them as a contributor to specific pages or blog posts.

Inviting an editor:

If you’d like someone to have access to your entire site, you can invite them to join as an editor. To do this, go to Settings > People & permissions > Invite people.

PRO TIP: If you are not an experienced web developer, we strongly recommend against trying to add an editor to your Squarespace website. Doing so could potentially break your site, and you could lose all of your content.

Enter the person’s email address, then click Send invitation. The invited person will receive an email with instructions on how to create a login and join your site.

Adding a contributor:

If you only want someone to be able to edit specific pages or blog posts, you can add them as a contributor. To do this, go to the page or post you want them to be able to edit, click the Share button (looks like a paper airplane), then click Invite contributors. The invited person will receive an email with instructions on how to create a login and join your site as a contributor. They’ll only be able to edit the specific pages or posts you invited them to.
