You can absolutely transfer your Squarespace domain to GoDaddy- in fact, it’s a pretty straightforward process! First, you’ll need to unlock your domain in Squarespace. To do this, simply log into your Squarespace account and go to the “Settings” tab. Next, click on the “Domains” option and then select the domain you want to transfer. On the next page, scroll down to the “Transfer Domain” section and click the button that says “Unlock Domain.”

Now that your domain is unlocked, you’ll need to get an authorization code from Squarespace. To do this, again log into your account and go to the “Settings” tab. This time, click on the “Billing & Account” option and then scroll down to the “Domains” section. Here, you should see a link that says “Get Authorization Code.” Click on this link and then copy the code that appears on the next page.

The next step is to actually initiate the transfer with GoDaddy. To do this, simply log into your GoDaddy account (or create one if you don’t have one already) and go to their “Domain Transfer” page.

Enter your domain name in the box provided and then enter the authorization code when prompted. Once you’ve done that, just follow the prompts to complete the transfer process!

Just be sure to unlock your domain in Squarespace first and then get an authorization code before initiating the transfer with GoDaddy. Follow the prompts from there and you’ll have your domain transferred in no time!

Can I Transfer My Squarespace Domain to GoDaddy?

Yes- you can easily transfer your Squarespace Domain over to GoDaddy with just a few simple steps.

First- log into your Squarespace account and go to settings. Then click on domains and select the domain name you wish to transfer.

Next- scroll down to where it says ‘transfer domain’ and click ‘unlock domain. ‘

PRO TIP: If you are considering transferring your Squarespace domain to GoDaddy, we recommend that you first reach out to Squarespace support to see if they can assist you with the transfer. In our experience, Squarespace has been able to successfully transfer domains for customers in the past. However, we cannot guarantee that they will be able to do so in all cases. Additionally, please be aware that once a domain is transferred away from Squarespace, you will no longer be able to use Squarespace’s DNS servers for that domain. This means that you will need to use GoDaddy’s DNS servers and may lose some of the advanced features that Squarespace offers (such as email forwarding).

Now- you will need an authorization code from Squarespace in order to initiate the transfer with GoDaddy.

You can retrieve this code by logging back into your Squarespace account- going to settings once again but this time clicking on ‘billing & account.’

Scroll down until you see ‘domains’ and next to it should be a link that says ‘get authorization code.’ Click on that link- copy the code that appears on the following page.

The next step is going back over to GoDaddy’s website (or creating an account if you don’t have one already) and going onto their ‘domain transfer’ page.

Enter in your desired domain name- when prompted enter in the authorization code from earlier.

Follow any additional prompts in order complete process.

And that’s it! You have now successfully transferred your Squarespace Domain over to GoDaddy.
