What Does WooCommerce Pending Payment Mean?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 12:23 am

Pending payment means that the order is not completed yet and the customer has not paid for it. The order is in a “pending” state. This can happen for a few reasons:

The customer has not completed the payment process.

They may have started to enter their payment information, but not finished.

The payment gateway (the service that processes the payment) is not responding. This could be because of heavy traffic or maintenance.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell products or services online, you may have noticed that some orders are marked as “Pending Payment.” This can be confusing, especially if you’re not sure what it means.

Pending Payment simply means that the order has been placed, but the customer has not yet completed the payment. There are a few reasons why this might happen:

The customer may be using a bank transfer or other offline payment method that takes a few days to process.

The customer’s credit card may have been declined.

There may be an issue with the payment gateway.

In any case, it is important to note that Pending Payment orders are not considered complete and will not be shipped until the payment is processed. If you have any questions about a Pending Payment order, please contact the customer directly.

There was an error when trying to process the payment. For example, the customer’s bank might have declined the charge.
