Can I Have Two Themes on Shopify?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 4:59 am

If you’re using Shopify for your ecommerce business, you might be wondering if you can have two themes running at the same time. The answer is yes, but there are a few things to keep in mind before you do so.

For starters, it’s important to note that you can only have one live theme running at a time. This means that if you want to test out a new theme, you’ll need to first deactivate your current theme.

You can do this by going to the Themes section of your Shopify admin, and then clicking on the Actions drop-down menu next to the theme that you want to deactivate. From there, simply select Deactivate.

Once your current theme is deactivated, you can then activate the new theme that you want to test out. To do this, simply go to the Themes section of your Shopify admin and click on the Actions drop-down menu next to the theme that you want to activate.

From there, select Activate.

Now that you have two themes installed, it’s important to remember that you can only have one theme set as your live theme at a time. This means that any changes that you make to your live theme will not be reflected on your other theme until you make it your live theme.

PRO TIP: If you are considering using two themes on Shopify, we recommend that you consult with a Shopify expert beforehand. While it is possible to use two themes on Shopify, doing so can often lead to unforeseen complications and can potentially damage your store’s theme.

To sum it up:

You can have multiple themes installed on Shopify, but only one can be active (or “live”) at a time.

While it’s possible to have multiple themes installed on Shopify, only one can be active (or “live”) at a time. This means that any changes made to your live theme will not be reflected on your other theme until you make it your live theme.
