Can a Customer Create a Draft Order in Shopify?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 5:06 am

When a customer is on your Shopify store, they have the ability to create a draft order. This is a great way for customers to save their order for later, or to share their order with someone else. To create a draft order, a customer simply needs to click on the “Create Draft Order” button in their shopping cart.

PRO TIP: Draft orders are a tool that can be used by Shopify customers to create an order without having to complete the purchase immediately. This can be useful if you want to save an order for later or if you want to create an order on behalf of a customer. However, it is important to note that draft orders are not completed orders and cannot be fulfilled until they are converted to a completed order. Additionally, draft orders are not visible to the customer until they are converted, so it is important to communicate with the customer about their draft order before converting it.

Once a draft order has been created, the customer can add or remove items from their order, and change the quantity of each item. They can also add a note to their order, and choose when they would like the order to be shipped. When the customer is ready to finalize their order, they can click on the “Place Order” button.

If you have a Shopify store, then you know that customers are always your top priority. By giving them the ability to create draft orders, you’re making it easy for them to save their orders and come back later to finalize it. This is just one more way that you can make your Shopify store customer-friendly!
