What is difference between managed and unmanaged VPS?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 3:28 pm

A managed VPS gives its administrator tight control over the resources and settings of the server. This means that the administrator can install and configure the server software, manage the server’s resources, and maintain the server’s security.

Managed VPS providers typically offer more resources and more control than unmanaged VPS providers.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that there is a difference between managed and unmanaged VPS. A managed VPS will have your hosting company’s technical support staff manage your server for you, while an unmanaged VPS will require you to manage your server yourself.

Unmanaged VPS providers, on the other hand, do not provide the level of control that managed VPS providers offer. Unmanaged VPS providers typically allow the administrator to install and configure the server software, but they do not manage the server’s resources.

Unmanaged VPS providers typically offer less resources and less control than managed VPS providers.
