How do I connect my GoDaddy domain to VPS?

If you’re looking to get started with hosting your own website, using a VPS might be a great option. There are a few things to keep in mind when connecting your GoDaddy domain to a VPS, though.

First, make sure that your GoDaddy account is updated to include the domain name. Next, you’ll need to create a hosting account with a VPS provider.

Once you have your hosting account set up, you’ll need to connect your GoDaddy account to it.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with domain name servers and DNS records, we recommend that you contact your hosting provider or GoDaddy support for assistance. Incorrectly editing DNS records can cause your website to become inaccessible.

To do this, login to your GoDaddy account and select Domains. Under the domain that you want to connect, click on Properties. On the General tab, select the Connect to this domain using settings button.

In the dialog that opens, select the Hosting account associated with the VPS that you want to connect to. After you have made the connection, your GoDaddy account will be linked to the VPS and you will be able to manage your domain from there.

Finally, make sure that your DNS settings are correct. If you’re using a managed DNS provider, such as GoDaddy, your VPS provider will likely have already set everything up for you.

If you’re using a self-managed DNS provider, such as OpenDNS, you will need to make sure that your VPS provider has your domain’s DNS settings set up correctly.
