What Products Are Not Permitted on My Store When Accepting Payments With WooCommerce Payments?

Last updated on January 16, 2023 @ 2:26 pm

When you’re running a WooCommerce store, you need to be aware of the products that you’re selling and whether or not they’re permitted by WooCommerce Payments. There are a few different categories of products that are not allowed, and we’ll go over each one in turn.

Illegal or Restricted Products

The first category of products that are not allowed are illegal or restricted products.

These are products that are illegal to sell in your country or region, or that are otherwise restricted by WooCommerce. Obviously, you should not be selling these kinds of products on your store, and if you are, you should switch to a different payment processor. Some examples of illegal or restricted products include:

  • Drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Tobacco and tobacco products
  • Alcohol
  • Gambling services
  • Weapons and ammunition
  • Explosives
  • (Certain) adult content

There are a few other types of products that WooCommerce does not permit on their platform. These include:

  • Virtual goods or intangible items, such as digital downloads
