Is VPS same as VPC?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 3:40 pm

VPS (Virtual Private Server) and VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) are both types of cloud computing. A VPS is a server in a data center that is rented by a customer on a monthly basis. The customer has complete control over the server, including the operating system and software applications. A VPC is a cloud computing platform that is used by organizations to create and manage their own private clouds.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that VPS and VPC are not the same thing. VPS stands for Virtual Private Server and VPC stands for Virtual Private Cloud. While they both offer similar features, they are not interchangeable.

A VPC is a collection of compute, storage, and networking resources that are operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS provides the underlying platform, while the organization manages the resources and applications. The biggest difference between VPS and VPC is that a VPS is a server that is owned by the customer, while a VPC is a platform that is managed by AWS.
